R. Jason Straight, UnitedLex, Chief Privacy Officer

As Chief Privacy Officer, Jason leads UnitedLex’s Cyber Security practice, with more than a decade of experience assisting clients in managing information security risks, data breach incidents, data privacy obligations and complex electronic discovery challenges. Jason is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), and a recognized domain expert, author and frequent speaker on topics relating to data privacy, cyber security, data breach response and computer forensics. Prior to joining UnitedLex, Jason led the cyber investigations practice of a leading global investigations and cyber security company. He began his career as an attorney at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobsen.

As chair of Mintz Levin’s Privacy & Security Practice and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Cynthia has extensive experience in privacy, data security, and information management matters, including state, federal, and international laws and regulations on the use and transfer of information, and data security breach compliance, response planning and incident response. She conducts privacy audits and risk assessments for Mintz Levin’s clients, and assists with drafting and implementing privacy and information security policies and procedures and monitoring of privacy “best practices” across all levels of the enterprise.

As co-chair of Buchanan Ingersoll’s Cyber Security and Data Protection Group, Matthew provides advice regarding data security breaches, information and records management and other areas regarding privacy. He helps clients identify business risks associated with the use and storage of sensitive information. Matt regularly advises clients on security breach notification laws and other U.S. state and federal data security requirements (including laws regarding disposal of records).

Ted is a partner in the Hartford office of Edwards Wildman.  He serves as a member of the Steering Committee of the firm’s Privacy and Data Protection Group and its Breach Response Team.  Ted advises clients in various industries on privacy and data protection and a wide variety of transactions, regulatory compliance and corporate matters.  He has extensive experience in the design and implementation of privacy and data protection policies and the direction of forensic investigation and analysis of data breach incidents.  Ted is a Certified Information Privacy Professional, accredited by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
